THE WOMAN BEHIND THE BRAND
Through the brand research and discovery process, I learned that Colby is an artistic, passionate, romantic, authentic, and intentional woman, mother, and wife who finds inspiration + purpose through sustainable + conscious living. She seeks to bring awareness of ethical living through her creative business endeavor, serving as an ambassador to Mother Earth in caring for the world.
We determined Colby’s target audience to consist of young-at-heart mothers who are focused on quality over quantity. They are not captivated by current trends but rather focus on the overall process when purchasing clothing and decor for their homestead. As such, Colby’s ideal customers are serious about two things: 1) conscious living and 2) childlike joy.
THE LOGO meaning
The handlettered company name adds warmth, imperfection, and creativity— much like a child’s persona. The swoops in the “R” and “d” represent the terrain changes experienced while wandering while the “+” symbolizes a compass, playing on the overall theme of adventure. Additionally, the brushstroke background adds creativity and lightheartedness to the logo.
Through our brand identity discovery process, I quickly found that Colby is drawn to colors which reflect warmth and energy, the same characteristics which are present in the little ones who will wear Trek + Wander clothing and the homes which will showcase Trek + Wander decor.
